Quality of Life for Mental Health Patients

Our agency strives to help our community Live Well & Thrive. With our ongoing campaigns, we will be establishing our commitment to become ambassadors for those who are suffering from mental health. Our goal is to provide supportive services, prevention and awareness, research, and advocate for the well being for those members of our community who are suffering from such condition.

Dementia and Occupational Therapy – Home caregiver and senior adult woman

For our inaugural campaign, we will be focusing on people with Dementia. This condition can be grouped into two types: reversible and degenerative (or progressive). Alzheimer’s disease is an example of degenerative dementia . The damage done to the brain, in this case, cannot therefore be interrupted or reversed. When it comes to reversible dementia, some examples are: drug and alcohol abuse, metabolic conditions (such as diabetes and obesity), and cancer.

The primary characteristic of Dementia patients is the loss of brain function. It directly affects the quality of life for that individual leading to cognitive impairment, memory loss, loss of reasoning, language, behavior and even altering one’s personality. In most cases, it is recommended that family members seek therapeutic help to deal with the struggles of the loved relative.

Our goal is to provide relief for those in our community who are suffering from dementia and are in need of support.
